"LEFTY"

A.k.a Sarah Lee of Hip Hop—is a Detroit‑born writer and emcee whose work has been shaped by a lifetime of storytelling and streetwise lyricism. Praised for poems and short stories from childhood, she published an early collection, Sounds of the City, before turning to rap under the influence of N.W.A., Wu‑Tang, Public Enemy, MC Lyte, and Queen Latifah. A standout freestyler and songwriter at Redford High, she performed with 90 Proof Musick Group across Detroit, Atlanta, and Phoenix, and released her debut rap album Quiet as Kept (1999). Her ambitious double album Sarah Lee’s Soul Schematic—a genre‑spanning project blending rock, electronic, dubstep, hip hop, and R&B—was slated for release in late 2022.
Lefty brings that same restless energy to her role in neo‑soul rap trio TRYF3CTA; look for her and the group’s upcoming project TRYF3CTA: Sound, Soul & Substance, a three‑act album that channels Detroit pride, cinematic production, and the trio’s unified voice.
